Welcome to the Caledonian School of Piping and Drumming's website. On this page, you will find the basic facts about the School and how to get started. Other pages give a more detailed breakdown of the various aspects of the School including costs, time commitments and future prospects as well as the background of our tutors.
Getting Started

When and Where
Due to the loss of our hall in the earthquake, we run most lessons in private homes or at our practice venue at Chisnallwood Intermediate. Lessons are generally in the weekend but can be arranged at a mutually agreed time and place during the week. We try to fit in around the learner where possible.
Make contact by clicking on the link below. A tutor will be in touch with you within a few days to arrange a meeting.
Time and Cost
You will need to purchase either a practice chanter (piping) or sticks and practice pad (drumming). The School does carry some stock but we recommend that each person buys their own. See the relevant pages for more detail on cost and supply.

For a beginner, the lesson times are generally around 30 minutes and cost $25. Longer lesson times will be necessary as people progress.
